Virgin Season 3 was rife with drama when it premiered and though the season finale left a lot of questions unanswered, fans can be rest assured that season 4 will answer some of the biggest questions that have been plaguing them. We finally found out who actually shot Jack in one of the most jaw-dropping moments of the season.

Many fans of Virgin River were left wondering if Brady had died after he was viciously stabbed by other inmates in the prison yard. The attack happened in the premiere episode of season 4, which ended with a cliffhanger leaving Brady’s fate unknown. Fortunately, it was later revealed that Brady did survive the stabbing though he was seriously injured. He was transferred to a hospital where he spent some time recovering before eventually returning to prison.
As the season continued, Brady was shown getting hospital treatment for his injuries and surviving the prison attack. He was later released on bail, which saved him from further altercations with his attackers in prison. So yes, the cliffhanger was resolved and Brady is safe (for now).
Brady was accused of shooting Jack
Although Brady was accused of shooting Jack, it was revealed that he was not the actual shooter. In the season 4 finale, a flashback scene shows what really happened that night. Vince was Jack’s shooter.
Vince is the twin brother of Wes, Paige’s abusive ex-boyfriend. Vince came to Jack’s bar in order to find Preacher but started a fight with Jack when Preacher wasn’t there. After fighting, Vince shot Jack and left him for dead, which served as the season 2 cliffhanger. This means that despite spending time behind bars, Brady was not the one who shot Jack. His name has been cleared and he can finally move on with his life.

In Season 4, it was finally revealed who the father of Mel’s baby is. Jack is the father of her child, and not her late husband via a frozen embryo. The pair got engaged before they found out the paternity, which showed that regardless of who the baby’s biological father was, Jack was ready to become a father figure to her child.
However, Jack is not the father of Charmaine’s twins. Charmaine confessed that she had lied to Jack and Mel and, in fact, Jack was not the father of her babies. This cliffhanger was left as the season concluded, and it was not confirmed who the father is. Many fans believe that Todd is the most likely father, but we will have to wait until Virgin River season 5 to get more answers. Season 5 of Virgin River has been green-lit by Netflix, so we can expect it to come out soon!
